Heavy Metal from Norway.
Tron and Nils grew up together in the 70's and 80's, and have played together in several bands through the years. They had just finished their former band project "Cameltoe" because the singer moved to another part of the country, and wanted to start a new band. They got together with Kjetil when seeking a drummer on the internet, and found a video of him on Youtube playing a cover tribute to Ark "Heal The Waters". This really showed Kjetil's excellent skills as a technical and musical drummer. Also, as it turned out, we had several mutual friends in the Trondheim area, so this was a "No brainer" And Jan Arild is a close friend of the bass player in Chontaraz - a band with very good friends of us from Hell(!) near Trondheim. He has an excellent range in his vocals, and can reach high notes seemingly without any effort. He originally started out as a drummer, but recently has focused more on singing. Both these guys have also played in several bands in the region before. Both are great guys both on and off stage, and contribute a great deal to the making of the band's material. What are the band's main influences? Crave is influenced by the great bands of the late 70's, such as Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple - and later, artists like the amazing Glenn Hughes. Also Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and most of the bands from the NWOBHM have greatly influenced us. Have you played any notable gigs, festivals or other events? Likewise radio or TV appearances? The last gig we played though, was at Berkåk Rock festival in may 2022. Are there any other interesting or amusing happenings – no matter how small – that the band have been involved with that would be of interest to those who like your music? Oh, yes, but we can't really share it yet ;-) Suffice to say it involves a party in an RV after a gig...Rock n' roll! Do you have any favourable quotes from previous reviews of the band that you'd be happy to share? No previous reviews since this is our first album. Where was the single/EP/album recorded and who was involved in its production? The album "Oblivion" was recorded in our own studio in Melhus (guitars, vocals, keybord) and in Kjetil's studio in Buvika (drums). Mixing and mastering was done by George Nerantzis in Greece. Nils was the one behind the controls in Melhus. Trond and Nils have also written most of the music, but the drums are Kjetils's work :-) Is there a particular ethos behind the single/EP/album or any particular music styles or events that inspired it? The band has always been inspired by the great heavy rock music form the 70's and 80's. Being young and growing up in that era was just wonderful - we had an enormous selection of really good music to listen to, and we listened a lot! Especially to bands like Iron Maiden, Saxon, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Van Halen etc. etc. Music was a really huge part of life back then.
